not so concentric circles

just trying out a new technique i learned from a carol taylor lecture. rene has the book, so not even sure i'm doing it correctly, but i was pleased with the effect! the block is made from pre-purposed fabric (pants and a dress in its past life). the backing was a curtain. just the red square came from my quilting scraps.

thanks so much for commenting on my blog so that i could find you. i adore this and the quilting. i tried this on an earlier quilt and didn't have much success. i'd love to hear more about how you accomplished this. did you use your darning foot?

Wow! That is REALLY cool! Did you do quilt it free motion on your home machine or a long arm??? Nice job!

that is so awesome!! i love that you were able to re-use fabric. on the quilting...you just started in the center and then kept going in circles until you wanted to stop? some of the lines overlap...did you just keep stitching??? it looks so so cool

Just did those circles with my walking foot, lining up the previous circle with the edge of the foot. It was quite simple once I got going (the center is a bit tricky - as evidenced by the wonky start on most of the circles). haha Good luck! And thanks for your comments/compliments.
