Christmas for Abby

A fabric collage I made for Abby this year. She's my water-loving oldest daughter (20 years old) She has been swimming with the manatees in Florida and sea turtles are another of her favs. This wall hanging is 36" wide and was machine quilted. The face is really Abby, printed on fabric. The manatees I made with gray batik and then shaded them with fabric dye markers (after misting with some water so that the shading would blend well). She has a hot-fix crystal in her belly-button, but you can't really pick up on the sparkle from this picture. I bordered it in a red batik that matches the coral at the bottom. This was REALLY fun to do! Merry Christmas Dabbadoo! I love you! Thanks to the ladies at Gloversville Sewing Center for helping me pick out the background fabric... PERFECT underwater effect!

Snow Globe Centerpiece

Hey, this one was fun... because I quilted it on Mom's Husqvarna Designer SE! Wow! What a treat! Stopping and starting without all the fuss made quilting this piece a pleasure.

Just Mauvy

Christmas quilt for Brittney, my son's girlfriend. She loves fairies, but I had promised hubby that the next quilt I made would use fabric from my stash! (So I added a little fairy to the label instead). This is a smaller than typical snowball block from my autographed copy of Kaffe Fassett's book, Quilts in the Sun.

Stargazer

Christmas gift for a friend who would never be caught dead without a place mat beneath her plate! Stargazer Crystal Pattern (available online for personal use). Machine quilted in the ditch with invisible thread.

The Healing Hand

Gift for a friend who does Reiki. Having fun getting creative with this really easy octagon pattern! Machine pieced and quilted, of course. I'm much too impatient for anything else.
